Stars in San Diego to Face Sockers Tonight

Tacoma, WA. - The Tacoma Stars (2-2) will play the second of six consecutive road matches when they visit Pachanga Arena San Diego to square off with the Sockers (4-1) this evening. This is the second meeting between the squads early in the season following a 7-3 San Diego win on November 30 at the accesso ShoWare Center. This is the second game this weekend for each team with Tacoma falling 10-7 in Ontario, and the Sockers picking up a 6-5 win in Turlock on Friday.
In the first game between Tacoma and San Diego, the Stars played the Sockers close before the visitors pulled away in the second half. Despite being outshot by Tacoma 9-8 in the final 30 minutes, the Sockers posted four second half goals to the Stars' one en route to their victory.
Mike Ramos, who leads the Stars in goals scored with five, Nick Perera, and Aleesandro Canale registered goals for Tacoma in the game. Kraig Chiles and Slavisa Ubiparipovic both found the net twice for San Diego with Travis Pittman, Brandon Escoto, and Brian Farber each scoring once.
Currently Ubiparipovic (3G-4A) and Leonardo De Oliveira (4G-3A) sit atop the Sockers squad in scoring with seven points on the season. Perera sets the pace for Tacoma with 11 points (5G-6A) with Ramos (7G-0A) and Alex Caceres (3G-4A) close behind with seven points each.
This is the final meeting between the teams until they battle in three consecutive games between March 8 - 15, 2020. Two of those matches will also be at Pachanga Arena San Diego. Tonight's match is set to start at 5:05 pm and can be seen live on MASL.tv.
The Stars continue their six-game road trip with two matches next week. The Stars visit the St. Louis Ambush on Friday and the Kansas City Comets on Saturday. Kickoff is scheduled for 5:35 pm PST and 5:05 pm PST respectively. You can catch all the action on MASL.tv.
