Ontario Fury News Release

(Ontario, California) - Franck Tayou hasn't earned the nickname the "King" in the Major Arena Soccer League for nothing.

Tayou posted his second consecutive five-goal game as the Ontario Fury defeated the Turlock Cal Express 8-3 Sunday afternoon at Toyota Arena.

Ontario actually trailed twice in Sunday's game, as the revitalized team from Turlock got the game's opening goal from Gerardo Jurado, then broke a 1-1 tie later in the first quarter as Jurardo set up Martyn Arista for a 2-1 lead that lasted 20 seconds - as Tayou settled a pass from Jermaine Jones, turned and fired for his second goal of the game.

From there, the Fury upped the pressure on the Express. Nestor Hernandez took a pass from Tayou on the right wing and fired it home to give Ontario its first lead. Then, after a defensive clearance, Tayou fired the ball into the net on the power play to give Ontario a 4-2 lead.

After Turlock pulled back within one, it was Tayou again on a free kick from near the top of the penalty area with his fourth goal, sending Ontario to the break with a 5-3 lead.

The second half was all Ontario, as the Fury got goals from Justin Stinson, Juan Carlos Gonzalez and Tayou's fifth to close out the scoring. The Ontario defense - anchored by goalkeeper Chris Toth - turned away all 12 of Turlock's shots on goal in the last 30 minutes.

The Fury will be back in action Saturday, as they host Soles de Sonora from Mexico at 6 p.m. at Toyota Arena. Tickets for the game are on sale at the Toyota Arena box office, or online through Ticketmaster or OntarioFury.com. Tickets can also be purchased by calling the Fury's offices at 909-457-0252.
