Hamilton Bulldogs News Release

CEDAR PARK, TEXAS - Hamilton Bulldogs goaltender Devan Dubnyk made 36 saves, but the rest of the Bulldogs couldn't muster any offence to help him out as the Texas Stars shutout the 'Dogs 4-0 on Tuesday evening at Cedar Park Center in Cedar Park, Texas.

After a scoreless first period, Stars forward Justin Dowling opened the scoring at 9:35 of the second period with a wrist shot from the slot. Forward Brett Ritchie and defenceman Cameron Gaunce notched assists.

Just under five minutes later, Texas forward Taylor Peters hammered a one-timer past Dubnyk to make it 2-0 Stars. Forward Matej Stransky had the only assist on the play.

Two minutes into the third period, Dowling drove hard to the net and slipped his second goal of the night past Dubnyk to extend his team's lead to 3-0. Ritchie and forward Mike Hedden drew assists.

Midway through the final frame, forward Scott Glennie made it 4-0, with assists from defencemen Patrik Nemeth and Derek Meech.
