Starrett Returns; Owen Dealt to Rapid City

Wichita, KS - The Wichita Thunder, ECHL affiliate of the NHL's Edmonton Oilers, AHL's Bakersfield Condors and powered by Toyota, announced two separate transactions today. Goaltender Shane Starrett has been reassigned by the Oilers to Wichita from Bakersfield. Goaltender Shane Owen has been dealt to Rapid City for future considerations.

Starrett, 23, made his AHL debut for the Condors on December 9th in 5-2 loss to San Antonio. He stopped 44 of 47 shots for Bakersfield. The Bellingham, Massachusetts native is 7-1-2-0 in 10 appearances for the Thunder this season, sporting a 2.27 goals-against average and .930 save percentage. The rookie netminder is third in the ECHL in goals-against and save percentage.

The Thunder closes their five-game road trip with another meeting tonight against the Idaho Steelheads at 8:10 p.m. CST.
