BOISE, Idaho, December 18, 2013 - The Idaho Stampede suffered their first loss of the season to the Bakersfield Jam 100-97.
Bakersfield's Mac Koshwal tipped in a rebound to put the Jam up 98-97 with 40 seconds remaining in the game. Pierre Jackson was then called for an offensive foul, giving the ball back to Bakersfield with 24 seconds left.
After Ian Clark knocked down one of two free throws for the Jam, Pierre Jackson missed a jumper that would have tied the game up. Brian Butch split free throws again for Bakersfield, leaving Idaho down by three points with just four seconds remaining. Richard Howell's three pointer hit back rim at the buzzer, giving Idaho its first defeat of the season.
The Stampede were led by Pierre Jackson with 31 points, six assists, six steals and five rebounds. Richard Howell also had a big night, posting 29 points and seven rebounds. Dallas Lauderdale pitched in with 11 points, nine rebounds and six blocks.
Bakersfield had five players score in double figures. Utah Jazz assignee Rudy Gobert (16 points, 14 rebounds) and Atlanta Hawks assignee Jared Cunningham (15 points) were key contributors in the win.
The Idaho Stampede (8-1) are back in action Saturday night in Los Angeles.
NEXT HOME GAME- The Stampede will host the Texas Legends at CenturyLink Arena on Friday, December 27 at 7 pm.
