DES MOINES, IA, December 19, 2013 - The Iowa Energy today acquired small forward Larry Owens from the Tulsa 66ers in exchange for Iowa's 3rd round pick in the 2014 NBA D-League Draft.
The 6 foot 7 forward has spent the last four seasons with Tulsa and was averaging 9 points and 4.7 boards per game with the 66ers so far this season.
Owens graduated from Oral Roberts in 2006, where he averaged 10.9 points, 7.7 rebounds, and 2.9 assists per game in his junior and senior seasons.
Owens has also spent time in the NBA with multiple teams including the Miami Heat, San Antonio Spurs, and Washington Wizards.
He is expected to make his Iowa Energy debut this weekend.
