BOISE, Idaho, December 12, 2012 - The Idaho Stampede have acquired Josh Owens (6-8, 240, b. 12/8/88, Stanford), the club announced today. Owens will wear jersey No. 33.
Owens played at Stanford from 2007-2012, redshirting his third year there, playing in 120 games (96 starts) over his career. Owens averaged 8.7 points and 4.7 rebounds per game, while shooting 57.2 percent from the floor in his career, before graduating in 2012 with a major in economics. The forward was a second team All-Pac-12 selection after the 2011-12 season.
This past summer, Owens played four games for the Charlotte Bobcats in the NBA Summer League, averaging 5.0 points and 2.3 rebounds per game and was a training camp invitee.
The Stampede waived Garrett Green to make room on the roster for the addition of Owens.
