Energy Receive Guard Morris Almond in Trade with Maine

DES MOINES, IA (Dec. 12, 2012) - The Iowa Energy today announced the signing of guard Morris Almond. Almond ventures to Des Moines from the Maine Red Claws following a trade that gives Maine the Energy's original 2nd round Draft pick in next season's 2013 D-League Draft.
Almond, a 6-6 guard, is familiar with the NBA D-League, having spent 119 games between three teams (Utah, Maine and Springfield) and averaging 24.5 points, 4.8 rebounds and 1.5 assists per game over the 2007-10 and 2011-12 seasons. Almond has also seen time in 38 regular season NBA games with two teams (Utah and Washington) through the 2007-09 and 2011-12 seasons, averaging 3.1 points, 1.2 rebounds and 0.3 assists per game.
Almond holds the NBA D-League all-time single-game scoring record with 53 points.
