St. Pierre nets Goaltender of the Week

Fort Wayne, IN --- The UHL announced today that Komet netminder Kevin St. Pierre has been named the Goaltender of the Week for the period of Feb. 9-15, 2004. It's his 5th weekly honor of the season. St. Pierre also has won the award this season for weeks ending Nov. 23, Jan. 11, Jan. 25 and Feb. 1. The veteran goalie has been named UHL Goaltender of the Month for November and January thus far this season.

St. Pierre posted a 2-0-0 record, 1.00 goals-against average and .962 save percentage in 2 appearances for the week. The Sherbrooke, Ontario native stopped 30 of 31 shots and successfully faced 4 power plays in a 3-1 victory against the Kalamazoo Wings in Fort Wayne Friday in his 5th straight start. St. Pierre also registered an assist on the game-winning goal.

Sunday St. Pierre pleased a Fort Wayne crowd of 8,460 with his 27th win of the season making 20 saves in a 2-1 win against the Eastern Conference leading Richmond RiverDogs with the Dog's lone goal coming on the power play.

For the month of February, St. Pierre has posted a 2.18 goals-against average (12ga) and .913 saver percentage (126/138) while registering a 3-1-1 record in 6 appearances.

St. Pierre finished the week leading UHL goalies with a 2.01 goals against average and .924 save percentage. He has allowed no more than 2 goals per game in 27 of 37 games played this season to date.

St. Pierre, 28, is in his 9th pro season, 3rd UHL and first with the Komets.
