Quad City's Williams and Fort Wayne's St. Pierre earn weekly honors

LAKE ST. LOUIS, MO---The United Hockey League (UHL) announced Tuesday that Quad City Mallards center Jeff Williams has been named Sher-Wood UHL Player of the Week and Fort Wayne Komets goaltender Kevin St. Pierre has been named UHL Goaltender of the Week for the period ending Sunday, February 15, 2004.

Williams completed the 17th week of the season registering 8-points (4g, 4a) and a plus-three rating in three games. He opened the week dishing out three assists in Friday's 5-2 victory over the Missouri River Otters and equaled a team record, scoring three power play goals in Saturday's 6-3 win over the Muskegon Fury. Williams tallied a goal in Sunday's 5-1 defeat of the Adirondack IceHawks to complete the week. The 28-year-old Pointe-Claire, Quebec native is currently riding a five-game point-scoring streak, amassing 11-points (6g, 5a) during that span. Williams was named Sher-Wood UHL Player of the Week for Week 15 (January 26 - February 1, 2004).

Other players nominated for the Sher-Wood UHL Player of the Week include: Adirondack defenseman Scott Drevitch, Elmira left wing J.F. Boutin, Flint right wing Jim Duhart, Fort Wayne left wing David-Alexandre Beauregard, Kalamazoo center Yannick Carpentier, Missouri center Chris Bell, Muskegon right wing Rustyn Dolyny, Port Huron defenseman John Vary, Richmond defenseman Paul Johnson and Rockford forward Dave Paradise.

St. Pierre completed the 17th week of the season posting a 2-0-0 record, a 1.00 goals against average (GAA) and a .962 save percentage (SPCT) to earn his fifth UHL Goaltender of the Week Award. He assisted on the Komets game winning goal in Friday's 3-1 victory over the K-Wings and held the Eastern Conference leading Richmond RiverDogs to one goal in Sunday's 2-1 win. The 28-year-old Sherbrooke, Quebec native continues to lead the league with a 2.01 GAA and a .924 SPCT. St. Pierre was named November 2003 and January 2004 UHL Goaltender of the Month and earned UHL Goaltender of the Week honors for Week Five (November 17 - 23, 2003), Week 12 (January 5 - 11, 2004), Week 14 (January 19 - 25, 2004) and Week 15 (January 26 - February 1, 2004).

Other players nominated for the UHL Goaltender of the Week include: Adirondack's Olivier Dannel, Elmira's Peter Aubry, Flint's Dan McIntyre, Kalamazoo's Chad Alban, Missouri's Tim Knudsen, Muskegon's Sylvain Daigle, Port Huron's Stu Dunn, Quad City's Masahito Haruna, Richmond's Maxime Gingras and Rockford's Ronnie Vogel.
