St. Louis Assigns RW Cody Beach to the Aces from the Chicago Wolves

ANCHORAGE, Alaska - The Alaska Aces, three time Kelly Cup champions, announced today that the St. Louis Blues of the National Hockey League have assigned right winger Cody Beach to the Aces from the Chicago Wolves of the American Hockey League.

Beach, 22, will join the Aces tomorrow for their next game against the host Idaho Steelheads, starting at 5:10 p.m. (KFQD/ECHL.TV). The Aces are 5-2-0 on a ten game road trip, holding the fourth playoff spot in the Pacific Division by one point over the Utah Grizzlies with six games remaining.

The top four teams in the division qualify for the Kelly Cup Playoffs.

The 6-foot-5, 200 pound forward led Chicago in penalty minutes (203) and registered nine points in 39 games, also collecting a pair of power play goals. His ECHL career spans two seasons (2012-14) with Evansville and Kalamazoo, scoring 12 points (4g-8a) while earning 95 penalty minutes.

Beach previously skated in 169 career junior games with Calgary and Moose Jaw of the Western Hockey league and racked up 119 points (29g-90a), a +18 rating and 624 penalty minutes. In his final season, 2011-12, Beach led Moose Jaw in assists (41), was second in points (56) and led the club in penalty minutes (229) in 58 games. He also helped guide Calgary to a berth in the Memorial Cup in 2009-10 and earned the Hitmen's "Rookie of the Year" award.

Beach will wear #27 with the Aces. He was originally selected by the Blues in the fifth round (134th overall) of the 2010 NHL Entry Draft.
