FAN APPRECIATION WEEKEND PART 1
Tonight's Matchup: With the push for the playoffs in full force, the Cyclones will host another crucial North Division battle as they welcome in the Toledo Walleye to U.S. Bank Arena. The Clones have taken points in three of the five regular season get-togethers and are hoping for two big points to close the gap for the fourth and final postseason slot.
Tonight's Promotion: Big Beer Tuesday / Adult T-Shirt Night / Country Night - Fans 21+ can enjoy $2 24-oz beers all night long! Plus, the first 1,000 adults will receive a limited-edition Cyclones T-Shirt! And enjoy our final country night with plenty of great music with a little twang!
Scouting the Walleye: Derek Lalonde's club has continued to thrive as the year winds down, winning eight of their last ten games to hold a slim lead atop the division. Rookie Tyler Barnes paces the Walleye and all ECHL first-year players with 65 points (27g, 38a) in 64 games. Fellow rookie Shane Berschbach has excelled as well, notching 53 tallies (15g, 38a) in 58 contests. Jeff Lerg has been a solid presence between the pipes for Toledo, amassing a 29-8-1-1 record and a 2.32 goals-against average. Neil Conway, who recently came off of the injured reserve list, has gone 11-4-2-1 this year with a stingy 2.09 GAA.
Last Time Out: Sahir Gill registered a hat trick to lead the Nailers past the Cyclones by a 4-3 final score in front of 2,008 at WesBanco Arena. Stephan Vigier, Christiaan Minella, and Jack Combs all netted goals for Cincinnati in a losing effort.
Combing in Points: Cyclones forward Jack Combs has found great success wherever he has been this year. He ranks tied for 4th in the ECHL with 74 points (31g, 43a) in just 45 games. Since joining the Cyclones last week, he's tallied five times (4g, 1a) in three contests.
Notorious VIG: Cincinnati forward Stephan Vigier has seemed to have the magic touch this season. The Cyclones have gone 9-2-0-1 when he lights the lamp and are 15-4-0-3 when he tallies at least a point. He currently ranks sixth on the team with 28 points.
