St. John's IceCaps News Release


The St. John's IceCaps dropped a 2-1 overtime decision to the Manchester Monarchs Saturday night at the Verizon Wireless Arena in Manchester, N.H.

Brian O'Neill scored a pair of powerplay goals for the Monarchs, including the winner at 3:07 of the extra frame. O'Neil tied the game at 1:16 of the second period as he directed a loose puck past IceCaps netminder Connor Hellebuyck in a goal-mouth scramble.

Brenden Kichton staked the IceCaps to a 1-0 lead at 4:35 of the first period as he skated in from the blueline and fired a slapper top shelf past Patrik Bartosak. Joel Armia and Patrice Cormier were awarded assists.
