B-Sens Grab Third Straight with 4-3 Win over Pens

WILKES-BARRE, P.A. - The Binghamton Senators scored two unanswered goals in the third period to beat their host, the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins, 4-3. With the win, the B-Sens earned their third victory in a row and points in eight of their past 10 games.

Michael Sdao opened the scoring for the B-Sens with his second goal of the season off assists from Derek Grant and Zack Smith 13:13 in the first. Buddy Robinson doubled Binghamton's lead just 22 seconds later with the team's 10th shorthanded goal of the year, tying them for first in the American Hockey League with the San Antonio Rampage. The Penguins cut the lead in half after Danny Syvret put a power-play goal past Peter Mannino with a little over five minutes remaining in the first. The B-Sens took the 2-1 lead to the first intermission despite being outshot 15-4.

Wilkes-Barre took their first lead of the game in the second with two goals at the beginning and end of the period. The tying goal came from a Carter Rowney wrap-around goal 47 seconds into the period before Scott Wilson scored his 15th of the season with 16 seconds left to play. The Penguins went into the final intermission break with a 3-2 lead being outshot by the Senators 12-11.

The B-Sens completed a come-from-behind win after scoring two goals in the third period. Max McCormick tied the game less than two minutes in with a snipe from the right faceoff circle for his 8th goal of the year. Shane Prince put home the game-winning goal 14:09 into the third off assists from Cole Schneider and Carter Camper giving the B-Sens a final 4-3 score.

Mannino stopped 33 shots to earn the victory in his first matchup against his former team while Jeff Zatkoff had 19 saves in the losing effort.
