St. Cloud Rox Fall on the Road 6-1 to Waterloo

Waterloo, Iowa - The St. Cloud Rox took to the road Thursday traveling to Waterloo, Iowa for a two game series against the Waterloo Bucks. The Bucks took game one defeating the Rox by a final score of 6-1.

The Bucks took an early 2-0 lead over St. Cloud in the bottom of the second inning. Waterloo kicked off the inning with a double and then scored their two runs on two singles.

Waterloo would score three more runs in the bottom of the fourth and extend their lead to 6-0 in the bottom of the fifth.

The Rox would make it a 6-1 game in the top of the sixth inning as Chris Paul (So., University of California) hit a single to the shortstop for a lead off hit to start the inning. With two outs on the board Paul would steal second and then score as Luke Weber (Jr., University of South Carolina Upstate) singled to left field for an RBI.

The seventh inning brought some hope for the Rox as Blake Headley (So., University of Nebraska) led off the inning with a single. Dustin Breshears (So., St. John's University NY) followed earning a walk but was the only runner on base as Headley was caught stealing. Conor Keniry (Jr., Wake Forest University) then hit a single to right field and Paul earned a walk to load the bases. The Rox unfortunately came up short falling on the road by a final score of 6-1.

Alex McRae (So., Jacksonville University) earned the start on the mound for the Rox pitching 3.2 innings and moving his record to 2-1 on the season. McRae was later releieved by Dalton Sawyer (Fr., University of Minnesota) for 2.2 innings and Tyler Wolfe (Fr., Des Moines Area Community College) ending the game pitching 1.2 innings.

The St. Cloud Rox (9-14, 9-14 North) and the Waterloo Bucks (15-7, 15-7 North) will be back in action Friday night for their final game of the series at Riverfront Stadium. Game time is set for 7:05 p.m.

St. Cloud will be back at home for three straight games starting on Monday, June 24 as they welcome the Alexandria Blue Anchors for one and then the Rochester Honkers for two. Game times are slated for 7:05 p.m. each day.

Monday, June 24 will be a Tattoo Night, presented by Wingnut Tattoo and Body Piercing. Fans can register at the game for your chance to win a free Rox tattoo and the first 400 kids 14 and under will receive a Rox temporary tattoo. It will also be "Military Mondays" presented by Regional Diagnostic Radiology, Active military members or veterans with a valid ID or military discharge papers receive a half priced reserved ticket. Tuesday, June 25 is a Rox Poster Schedule Giveaway, presented by Rengel Printing. All fans will receive a 2013 Rox poster at the gate. It will also be "Not Too Old Tuesdays" presented by The Legend's of Heritage Place. The first 75 fans, 60 years & older receive a Rox seat cushion and reserved tickets for fans 60 years and older are half off!

The Rox final home game in the three game stand on Wednesday, June 26 will be a Mustache Night, presented by Wells Fargo where the first 250 kids 14 & under receive a mustache. It is also "College ID Night!" presented by 104.7 KCLD and WILD Country 99. For the game, all fans that show their college ID will receive a Charter Sports Deck ticket for half price. One lucky fan will win a pair of WE FEST tickets at each game.
