Richmond Flying Squirrels News Release
New Britain, CT - Heavy rains forced the suspension of Thursday's game between the Richmond Flying Squirrels and New Britain Rock Cats from New Britain Stadium. The game was scoreless as it was suspended in the bottom of the second inning. Due to the fact that the Squirrels will not return to New Britain this season, the game will be resumed when New Britain visits Richmond in August. At that time, the suspended game will be completed and followed by a seven-inning game. It will be a single-ticket event.
The Squirrels return home to open a four-game series with the Trenton Thunder (New York Yankees) on Friday night. First pitch of the opener is scheduled for 7:05 at The Diamond. Richmond LHP Ty Blach (3-2, 2.57) will make the start against Trenton LHP Jeremy Bleich (3-4, 3.96). The Flying Squirrels Pregame Warmup begins at 6:35 p.m. on Sports Radio 910 and SportsRadio910.com.
