Richmond Flying Squirrels News Release
ALTOONA, Pa. - Sunday's game at Peoples Natural Gas Field between the Richmond Flying Squirrels and the Altoona Curve was canceled after rain halted play in the fourth inning.
The game reached the bottom of the fourth inning before play was halted for rain.
The game will not be made up. The game did not reach the minimum five innings needed to count in the records.
Altoona took a 1-0 lead in the first inning with an RBI double by Rodolfo Castro. Later in the inning, Mason Martin flied out to center field and Luis Basabe threw Castro out at home plate to end the inning.
Will Wilson hit a solo homer in the top of the third inning to tie the score. It would have been his sixth home run of the season if the game had concluded.
In the fourth, Martin hit a go-ahead solo homer, which would have been his 22nd on the year. Josh Bisonette added an RBI single to open a 3-1 lead for the Curve before the rain hit.
