BIRMINGHAM, AL - The Texas Legends (17-15) dropped their second to last road game, falling 97-127 to the Birmingham Squadron (15-14).
Birmingham led from the first minute, getting off to a 9-0 start before Texas responded. The game slipped away in the second with the Squadron taking a 30-point edge into halftime. The Legends matched every point in the second half but were unable to close the gap, holding onto a 3-2 series lead for the year.
Anthony Mathis came off the bench to lead the Legends' scoring efforts, knocking down 6-of-12 outside for 24 points. Moses Wright added a double-double of 17 points, 12 rebounds, and Justin Jackson finished with 23 points, 6 rebounds, and 6 assists. Carlik Jones added the last double-digit score with 15 points, 5 rebounds, and 7 assists.
Eight of the ten active Birmingham players finished in double figures led by Zach Hankins with 21 points, 8 rebounds, and 2 blocks. Zylan Cheatham dominated the boards with 16 while adding 15 points and 5 assists.
