Squadron Fall to Blue 115-99 in Final Road Game of 2023-24 Campaign

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - The Birmingham Squadron, NBA G League affiliate of the New Orleans Pelicans, fell, 115-99, to the Oklahoma City Blue in the team's final road contest of the season Wednesday afternoon at Paycom Center in Oklahoma City, Okla.

Both Squadron (14-19) assignment players, Dyson Daniels and E.J. Liddell, led the team in scoring with 22 points apiece, while the NBA G League's sixth-leading scorer on the season, Malcolm Hill, posted 19. Guard Jalen Crutcher shot 50% from three (4-of-8) and recorded 16 points.

Hill also accounted for 10 rebounds for his fourth double-double of the season.

Three players, Adam Flagler (25), Olivier Sarr (22) and Keyontae Johnson (20) scored at least 20 for the Blue (19-13), and Sarr hauled in 26 rebounds, seven shy of an all-time G League record. Hunter Maldonado did not score for Oklahoma City but tallied 11 boards off the bench.

Birmingham returns to Legacy Arena at the BJCC as the Squadron cap the 2023-24 campaign Saturday at 7 p.m. against the Cleveland Charge for 205 Night presented by Morris Bart. As part of the gameday festivities, the first 750 fans through the door will receive a specialty Squadron t-shirt courtesy of Morris Bart.
