Delaware Blue Coats News Release
WILMINGTON - The Delaware Blue Coats (19-14) fell to the Capital City Go-Go (19-14) by a score of 122-116 on Wednesday afternoon at Chase Fieldhouse.
The Blue Coats got strong contributions from their two-way players. Jeff Dowtin Jr. (29), Ricky Council IV (27), and Terquavion Smith (25) lead the team in scoring. Patrick McCaw poured in 12 off the bench. Melvin Frazier Jr. also tied a season-high in rebounds with 15 and had three blocked shots.
During a critical point down the stretch, Delaware was held scoreless for over four minutes in the fourth quarter.
"I am a big believer in the snowball effect," head coach Mike Longabardi said. "If you do not get a good shot on offense it is going to hurt you on defense."
Michael Foster Jr. scored a team-high 26 points for the Go-Go. Foster Jr. also grabbed ten rebounds, which was good enough for a double-double. Hamidou Diallo (23), Davion Mintz (16), Jake Stephens (15), Jules Bernard (12), and Justin Champagnie (11) also registered double digits in scoring.
The Blue Coats, who have clinched an NBA G League Playoff berth, conclude their regular season on Saturday, March 30 when the team hosts the Oklahoma City Blue at 6:00 p.m.
