Spurs Spoil Cooley's Night

Boise, Idaho (February 18, 2015) - Jack Cooley posted a career-high in rebounds on his way to 25 points and 20 boards, but it wasn't enough as the Stampede fell to the Austin Spurs 118-126.

Idaho led for the majority of the game, pushing its biggest lead to 12 points. The Spurs knocked down five 3-pointers over a span of three minutes early in the fourth quarter to take its first lead since the end of the first quarter. Austin shot 13-for-17 in the final frame, as well as eight-for-nine from the charity stripe to complete the comeback.

Cooley's 20 rebounds mark a season-high for any Stampede player, with 13 of them coming from the offensive glass. Jerrelle Benimon also had a good night down low, recording a team-high 26 points and grabbing nine rebounds. Joel Wright and Jermaine Taylor each pitched in with 22 points.

Bryce Cotton scored a game-high 32 points for Austin, including 11-for-11 from the free throw line. San Antonio Spurs' forward Kyle Anderson posted 27 points and eight rebounds on assignment. The Spurs shot 52 percent from the field as a team to go along with their 81 percent free throw shooting (34/42).

The Stampede look ahead to this Saturday, February 21, when they host the Bakersfield Jam for Military Appreciation Night.
