
Springfield Falcons Sign Defenseman Steven Shamanski to PTO

Springfield, Mass. - The Springfield Falcons have signed defenseman Steven Shamanski to a professional tryout contract, Falcons Director of Hockey Operations Bruce Landon announced today.
Shamanski, 25, has skated in 48 contests with the Elmira Jackals of the ECHL this season, posting 11-17-28 in addition to 41 penalty minutes and a +5 rating. The 6-foot, 195-pound defenseman also appeared in one game with the Rochester Americans of the American Hockey League.
Prior to his professional career, the Carberry, Manitoba native spent four years at Providence College, tallying 11-25-36 to go along with 129 penalty minutes in 141 games. Shamanski also appeared in a career total of 180 Manitoba Junior Hockey League contests with the Dauphin Kings, earning 40-125-165 and accumulating 256 penalty minutes.
