
Spokane Uses Long-Ball to Beat Boise 8-4

The Boise Hawks (3-2) fell on the road in the final game of the five game series with the Spokane Indians (2-3) by a final score of 8-4. Spokane got a three run home run from Isaias Quiroz in the 2nd inning and never looked back
Boise got things started quick, scoring in the first inning for the third straight game. The Hawks got a single from Cade Harris and then Daniel Jipping hit a two run home run to give Boise a 2-0 lead.
Boise's starter Alec Byrd struck out the side in the first, but came back in the second and allowed back-to-back hits to start the inning. He came back with two strikeouts but then allowed a three run home run to Isaias Quiroz making it 3-2 Spokane.
In the third, Jonah McReynolds hit an RBI double into left field scoring JP Martinez to make it a 4-2 Spokane advantage.
In the fourth, with Mike Bunal on the mound, the righty gave up a home run to Starling Joseph on a line drive making it 5-2 Spokane. In the fifth, Curtis Terry knocked in Miguel Aparicio and it became a 6-2 Spokane lead.
The Hawks put Eric Hepple on the mound in the 6th for his professional debut, and he worked an inning of scoreless baseball. Boby Johnson also made his professional debut in the 7th and did the exact same.
The Hawks would get two runs in the 7th. LJ Hatch hit a sacrifice fly scoring Cade Harris to make it 6-3, and then Jeff Bohling ripped a single scoring Daniel Jipping to make it 6-4.
But in the 8th, against Boise's Jefry Valdez, Curtis Terry knocked a home run to left field making it 7-4. Later in the 8th, Isaias Quiroz hit his second home run of the game giving Spokane an 8-4 lead.
Blake Bass came into the game for Spokane in the 9th and despite allowing a walk to Daniel Jipping, Bass finished the game off to give Spokane the 8-4 win.
Spokane's Ryan Dease was the winning pitcher, while Boise's Alec Byrd gets the loss.
