Boise Hawks News Release
SPOKANE, Wash. - Josh Richmond scored from second base on a Santiago Chirino sacrifice fly in the eighth inning, helping the Spokane Indians rally for a 5-4 victory over the Boise Hawks before 4,451 fans at Avista Stadium.
The Indians loaded the bases in the eighth, with Chirino lining a ball to right with one out. Chris Huseby's throw home was up the line, allowing Andrew Clark to score from third, to tie the game. The runners from first and second advanced on the throw, with Jurickson Profar getting caught in a rundown between first and second, staying in it long enough to allow Richmond to score from second with the winning run.
Boise opened the scoring on the second pitch of the game, as Alvaro Ramirez lined a leadoff home run off the roof of the Depot railcar in right, giving the Hawks a 1-0 lead.
Spokane would rally, getting a Profar RBI double in the second to tie the score, then getting a Chirino RBI single in the fourth to take a 2-1 lead. Profar would add a solo homer to right in the sixth, pushing lead to 3-1.
The Hawks would tie the score in the seventh on a two-run double by Dustin Harrington and take the lead at 4-3 on a Richard Jones RBI double in the eighth. Boise would have runners and first and third in the ninth, but Colby Killian coaxed Kyung-Min Na to ground into a game-ending double play.
Harrington went 2-for-4 in the loss for the Hawks, while Profar went 3-for-4 in the win for the Indians.
The finale of the series is tomorrow night, with Dustin Fitzgerald meeting Juan Grullon at 7:35 p.m.
NOTES - The Hawks added three players to their roster tonight - as Tarlandus Mitchell was removed from the disabled list, and pitchers Alvaro Sosa and Dallas Beeler were promoted from Mesa...following the game, Ramirez was promoted to the Peoria Chiefs in the Midwest League.
