Boise Hawks News Release
SPOKANE, Wash. - A Jake Skole RBI single in the third inning broke a 2-2 tie, as the Spokane Indians defeated the Boise Hawks, 3-2, before 4,977 fans at Avista Stadium.
Ryan Strausborger lined a triple with one out in the third off the wall in right-center, with Skole roping a ball through a drawn-in infield to give the Indians their third straight win.
Spokane took a 2-0 lead in the second, getting a run on a Jurickson Profar RBI ground out and another on an RBI single from Santiago Chirino. Boise would tie it in the third, as Alvaro Ramirez doubled in a run, with Elliot Soto following with a run scoring single.
The Hawks had their chances, having a runner at second with less than two outs in the fifth, sixth, and seventh innings, but went 0-for-7 in the scoring opportunities.
Andrew Clark went 2-for-4 for the Indians in the win, with Ramirez going 2-for-4 for the Hawks.
Game 2 of the series is tomorrow night, with Eduardo Figueroa meeting Nick McBride at 7:35 p.m.
