Split on the Brain as Caps Visit Tri-City

Madison Capitols News Release
Kearney, NE - The Madison Capitols (18-21-4-3) will look to reignite an offense that could not solve the Tri-City Storm (23-12-7-4) on Friday night, as the two teams rematch at the Viaero Center at 7:05 p.m. on Saturday.
The Storm and Capitols played a scoreless first period as Friday's action began tentatively, but Tri-City would gain the upper hand on a power play chance early in the second. After Alex Limoges stepped to the front of the net and took a shot on goal, University of Wisconsin commit Dan Labosky pounced on the rebound to beat Ryan Edquist on the stick side to put the Storm ahead 1-0.
Tri-City picked up insurance in the final moments of the second off a net-crashing goal by Carson Meyer.
Down 2-0 heading into the third, the Capitols relented as Limoges upped the Storm advantage to 3-0 just 18 seconds into the frame. By night's end, despite putting 30 shots at the net of Storm goaltender Jake Kielly, the Capitols could not dent the Tri-City defense, going scoreless for the fourth time this season.
Tri-City has now earned points in six straight games, going 5-0-1 in that stretch. The Capitols had their streak of points in six straight games come to a close on Friday.
Following play on Friday, the Capitols have three remaining road games on a season-long nine-game road trip. Madison completes a busy three-game weekend with a contest in Sioux City against the Musketeers on Sunday.
The Capitols then return home for a two-game weekend on Friday & Saturday, March 11-12, at the Alliant Energy Center for a pair of 7:05 p.m. puck drops against Sioux Falls and Youngstown respectively.
March 11 marks the Capitols' Cross Check Cancer initiative, as proceeds from ticket package purchases will benefit the UW Carbone Cancer Center, in conjunction with UW Health Sports Medicine, the Capitols' 2015-16 presenting sponsor.
March 12 brings about the return of four-legged friends to the Coliseum on Pucks N' Paws night, presented by Animart. Dogs will be permitted into the Alliant Energy Center on game night, and each pup will receive a doggy goody bag!
