Kokomo, IN - The Traverse City Pit Spitters win game two of the series against the Kokomo Jackrabbits, 7-4. The Pit Spitters improve to 37-25 on the season and 15-12 in the second half.

The Pit Spitters offense started things off in the top of the third as parker Brosius singled to left field. After Brosius swiped second and third, Tyler Minnick hit a single to right field giving the Pit Spitters an early 1-0 lead. The Jackrabbits didn't stay quiet for long, as Jason Carrig led off the bottom of the third with a double. Tyler Cate drove in Carrig on a single to left field, tying the game at 1-1. A flurry of walks from Cole Prout and Evan Orzech, and a fielder's choice grounded into by Devin Hukill loaded up the bases with two outs in the top of the fifth. Camden Traficante singled to right field scoring both Prout and Hukill to give the Pit Spitters a 3-1 lead. Zach Johnson made it a 4-1 lead as he singled to center scoring Orzech. Cate led off the bottom half of the fifth inning for the Jackrabbits with a double to left field. Karson Hesser scored Cate on a single to center, to make it a 4-2 game. Mannelly was hit by a pitch to lead off the top of the sixth inning, and then was followed up with a single to right field by Brosius. Minnick hit a single to left field scoring Mannelly to make it a 5-2 ballgame. The Pit Spitters continued the offensive into the top of the seventh with Hukill and Orzech back-to-back singles. Traficante then tripled to left-center field, scoring Hukill and Orzech to extend the Pit Spitters lead to 7-2. The Jackrabbits didn't go away, as Hesser drew a walk, followed by back-to-back singles from Camden Hayslip and Tyler Epstein to load up the bases in the bottom of the seventh. Hesser and Hayslip came into score on a groundout hit by Filip Sarota to cut into the Pit Spitters lead 7-4. The Pit Spitters would hangout to the 7-4 lead, to complete the sweep in Kokomo.

The Pit Spitters improve to 37-25 on the season and 15-12 in the second half, while the Jackrabbits drop to 23-39 overall and 10-18 in the second half. The Pit Spitters starting pitcher Nathan Dvorsky threw six innings, giving up two runs on seven hits, walking three striking out six. Hayden Brown threw an inning of scoreless relief. Holden Wilder threw an inning of relief, giving up two runs on two hits, striking out one. Jared Ure closed out the game, giving up just one hit in a scoreless inning of work.

The Pit Spitters will travel back to Turtle Creek Stadium for the start of a four game home stand and series against the Kalamazoo Growlers. First pitch is 7:05PM.
