Traverse City, MI - The Traverse City Pit Spitters win game one of the series against the Kenosha Kingfish, 15-4, in front of 2,307 fans at Turtle Creek Stadium. The Pit Spitters improve to 40-29 on the season and 18-16 in the second half.

Andrew Mannelly drew a walk to kick off the bottom of the first inning for the Pit Spitters. After swiping second base, Mannelly came into score on a single to left field by Parker Brosius giving the Pit Spitters an early 1-0 lead. Cooper Mills dropped a bunt down the third base line to start the bottom of the third inning. Colin Summerhill hit a single to left field, scoring Mills to extend their lead 2-0. Joe Wike and Joe Muzio hit back-to-back singles to open the top of the fifth for the Kingfish. Wike came into score following an error by Nathan Dvorsky, cutting into the Pit Spitters lead 2-1. Lance Trippel singled to center field, scoring Muzio to tie the game at 2-2. The Pit Spitters opened the bottom of the fifth, with back-to-back singles from Mills and Mannelly, followed by a hit by pitch from Brosius to load the bases. Summerhill singled to right field, scoring Mills and Mannelly to take a 4-2 lead. Following a Michael Tchavdarov infield single, Evan Orzech singled to center scoring Brosius and Summerhill to extend the Pit Spitters lead to 6-2. Devin Hukill joined in on the action, with a single to right field, scoring Tchavdarov to make it 7-2. In his second at-bat of the inning, Mannelly hit an infield single, scoring Orzech to push the Pit Spitters lead to 8-2. The Pit Spitters offense pick right back up in the bottom of the sixth, with three straight walks from Summerhill, Tchavdarov, and Orzech to load the bases. Hukill singled, scoring Summerhill and Tchavdarov to make it 10-2. Following a walk from Ethan Hyme, Mills hit a double to left field, scoring Orzech and Hukill to extend their lead to 12-2. Mannelly, Brosius, and Summerhill drew three straight walks, allowing Hyme and Mills to come into score, making it 14-2 Pit Spitters. Orzech led off the bottom of the seventh inning with a trip to right field. Traficante then drew a walk, followed by Hukill grounding into a fielder's choice, scoring Orzech to give the Pit Spitters a 15-2 lead. Wike drew a walk to start the offense for the Kingfish in the top of the ninth. Muzio then crushed a two-run home run to cut into the Pit Spitters lead 15-4. The Pit Spitters took game one of the series against the Kingfish, 15-4.

The Pit Spitters improve to 40-29 on the season and 18-16 in the second half, while the Kingfish drop to 29-40 overall and 12-24 in the second half. The Pit Spitters starting pitcher Nathan Dvorsky threw four and two thirds innings, giving up two runs on five hits. Quinn Berglin threw an inning and a third of scoreless relief, giving up just two hits. Mason hill threw an inning of scoreless relief, striking out one. Easton Johnson threw an inning of relief giving up just one hit and striking out two. Zach Johnson threw the last inning for the Pit Spitters, giving up two runs on one hit and four walks.

The Pit Spitters stay at Turtle Creek Stadium for the final game of the series against the Kenosha Kingfish. First pitch is 7:05PM.
