Windsor Spitfires News Release
Rookie Ben Johnson is a hard-working kid. Before today, one that hadn't scored in his first 23 games.
Sunday, his pair of goals and another two from Nick Czinder was more than the Spits needed, in an 8-0 win over a depleted Greyhounds club.
Dressing just 13 players due to suspensions and injuries, the Greyhounds wrapped up a six-game road trip with a game they simply weren't equipped to compete in.
John Cullen was sharp when he had to be, making 26 saves for the shutout, less than 24 hours after he was too sick to play in Niagara.
Johnson and Czinder also added an assist and Alexander Khokhlachev had four assists, while Brady Vail and Adrian Robertson each had a goal and two assists.
The Spitfires (11-11-1-1) finish the weekend with four points out of six and a near-miss in Niagara.
