HAMILTON, Ontario -Christian Fischer had two goals as the Windsor Spitfires (33-18-6-0) defeated the Hamilton Bulldogs (21-30-7-0) 6-2 on Sunday afternoon at the WFCU Centre in Windsor.
The Bulldogs opened the scoring as Matt Luff created a turn over and Matt Strome helped set up Niki Petti who buried his 20th of the season at 5:46 of the opening period.
Windsor evened the game up on the power play when Christiano DiGiacinto tapped in a pass from Gabriel Vilardi and Jalen Chatfield at 13:57.
Two minutes later Christian Fischer tipped in a Tyler Nother point shot for his 28th of the year to make it 2-1.
Hamilton knotted it up in the second period thanks to some solid hand eye coordination by Jack Hidi who swatted a bouncing puck in for his 5th of the season. Mitchell Mendonca and MacKenzie Entwistlewere awarded the assists on the play.
The Spitfires retook the lead on a two man advantage as Bradley Latour fired a one timer right in front of Kaden Fulcher at 12:28 of the stanza.
Windsor added to their lead with goals from Logan Brown, Hayden McCool, and a second goal from Christian Fischer to complete the home and home sweep of the Bulldogs.
Hamilton returns to action Wednesday night when they visit the North Bay Battalion at 7:00p.m. Hamilton will be back at home on Saturday, February 27 to take on the North Bay Battalion. Puck drop is set for 7:00p.m.
