Windsor Spitfires News Release
(Windsor, ON) - In response to the reported closing of the Windsor Homes Coalition Food Bank and the dire need for donations expressed by the Welcome Centre Shelter for Women this week, the Windsor Spitfires organization is asking those attending this weekend's home games (Saturday night vs Owen Sound & Sunday vs Niagara) to bring donations in support of the Windsor-Essex Food Bank Association.
Fans are asked to bring any canned or non-perishable food items or monetary contributions to one of two locations at the WFCU Centre: "The Crease" apparel shop, located on the Community Rinks side of the facility across from the Tim Horton's kiosk or the Windsor Spitfires Foundation concourse table, which will be located outside Section 103.
Those who are unable to attend this weekend's games are encouraged to drop off donations directly to the association's headquarters at 6955 Cantelon Drive in Windsor.
Donation suggestions include peanut butter, jam, cereal, tuna, rice, beans, bread, Kraft Dinner, juice boxes, baby formula, pasta and sauce.
