
Wolves Come up Short against Colts

The Sudbury Wolves fell by a score of 4-1 to the Barrie Colts Thursday evening at the Barrie Molson Centre. The Wolves opened the scoring in the first and outshot the Colts, but were unable to come away with the victory.
The Wolves started strongly as they opened up a 1-0 lead on a goal by CHAD HEFFERNAN who notched his third goal of the season. JACOB HARRIS and PAVEL JENYS added the helpers on the game's first goal. The Wolves continued to play a strong period as they out-shot the Colts, but Kevin Labanc scored a late 1st period marker to tie the game after 20 minutes. Wolves led shots on goal 10-5 after one.
Barrie was able to extend their lead in the 2nd frame as Josh Carrick scored his first goal of the season. The Colts also bounced back in the shots department in the second as they outshot the Wolves 14-8 in the period. Shots on goal after 40 minutes were 19-18 in favour of the Colts.
The Wolves were unable to come back in in the final period of play. The Colts scored on the powerplay halfway through the frame to give themselves an important insurance goal. Labanc then added his second of the game with an empty net goal in the dying seconds of the game. Final shots were 31-30 in favour of the Wolves.
