
Spirit Wrap up Road Trip on Saturday in Owen Sound

Owen Sound, Ont. - The Saginaw Spirit (17-32-1-0) wraps up their three-game road swing hoping to salvage a victory against the Owen Sound Attack (23-23-2-2) when they meet for the second of four meetings this season at the Harry Lumley Bayshore Community Centre in Owen Sound, Ontario. Puck drop is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
Head-to-Head
Tonight, is the first game between the Spirit and the Attack since Nov. 20, when Owen Sound knocked off the Spirit, 6-3. Josh Bloom scored twice for the Spirit, while rookie forward Matyas Sapovaliv factored in with assists on all three Spirit goals. William Portokalis scored twice for the Attack, and Thomas Chafe, Julian Fantino, and Deni Goure all recorded multi-point games for Owen Sound. The Spirit and Attack will meet for back-to-back games at The Dow coming up on Friday, Mar. 11 and Saturday Mar. 12.
Last Time Out
Saginaw: The Spirit made their second and final trip to The Aud on Friday night, and split with a 5-2 loss. Saginaw's scoring came from the defense as goals from PJ Forgione and Brayden Hislop's first in the OHL bookend five Rangers goal from five different players.
Owen Sound: The Attack never lead in their road test Friday night until they downed the Guelph Storm in overtime, 4-3. Cedrick Guindon scored all four goals for the Attack for his 18th, 19th, 20th, and 21st goals of the season. In addition to Guindon's big night, Deni Goure, Sam Sedley, and Servac Petrovsky Owen Sound goaltender Nick Chenard only faced 19 Guelph shots, making 16 saves.
