Spirit Strike Again

Lynn, MA – The North Shore Spirit defeated the Elmira Pioneers 6-2 on Tuesday night at the New Fraser Field in Lynn before a crowd of 1,749. Spirit starting pitcher Bryan Morse went 7.1 innings with six strikeouts. Morse was supported by solid defense and powerful hitting.

The Spirit had 13 hits behind shortstop Jason Startari's three hits and three RBI. Startari drove in Mike Tejada and Jose Castellanos in the second inning with a triple to center field. Marcos Agramonte added three hits for the Spirit.

Elmira's Cleatus Davidson had the game's only homerun in the third inning. Geronimo Mendoza (3-3) got the loss for the Pioneers.

Miguel Baez (3-1) will take the mound on Wednesday for game three of four against the Pioneers. Elmira's Hatuey Mendoza (1-1) will face-off against Baez.

Tickets and souvenirs are now on sale at the Howie Grob Clubhouse Building at 365 Western Ave in Lynn.
