American Defenders of New Hampshire News Release
In what could be the week that determines the fate of the Pride's chase of the North Division first half crown, Nashua puts its impressive home record on the line with a chance to virtually lock up the division and a playoff spot. The Pride is 19-6 within the hallowed walls of Historic Holman Stadium in 2003, including a 7-0 record vs. the Pennsylvania Road Warriors. That includes last night's 12-3 pounding of the Warriors, when Nashua had a season-high 20 hits. Glenn Murray hit his 11th HR of the season, and Chop Pough had a 3-run blast of his own. Tommy Taylor got the win for Nashua, improving to 6-1 on the year. The Pride has two more dates vs. Penn. on this homestand, tonight and tomorrow, including the return of MONKEY BOY tomorrow, 6/25.
The Pride's overall record of 31-17 is second best in the Atlantic League only to South leading Camden, who come to town for a three-game series from June 26th to June 28th. The Pride have struggled thus far against the âSharks in 2003, dropping 5 of 6, including getting swept at home in the middle of May, but Nashua has put those games behind them and are concentrating on the task at hand...clinching the division. Highlights of that series include a post-game fireworks display on 6/27 and Charlie Sherman Bobbleheads on 6/28.
Jose Offerman & second-place Bridgeport come to Nashua for a hugely important series from 6/29 through 7/1. For game times, Town Nights and additional promotions and information, go to NashuaPride.com.

OH YES, in case you missed it, pitcher Brian Looney has returned to the Pride. Despite a 2-1 record in AAA Colorado Springs, Brian was released as part of a numbers game, and the Boston College product has come back to the Pride...reliever Chad Ricketts, who is trying to come back from Tommy John surgery just one year ago, was placed on the inactive list to make room.
And the Pride has made some moves in the office as well, as Director of Business Development and Nashua-native Mark Souza will be leaving the team at the start of July to become the Director of New England Operations for the Ted Williams Museum. Steve Cox, the team's current Operations Manager, another native Nashuan, and a former team MVP at Daniel Webster College has been elevated to Client Services Manager. Tim Renyi was promoted from his position as an intern to become the new Operations Manager.

AROUND THE LEAGUE
Long Island Ducks team officials have come to contract terms with pitcher and Major League veteran Kevin McGlinchy. 2003 is McGlinchy's eighth season in professional baseball and first with the Long Island Ducks. He twice reached the Major League level (1999 & 2000) with the Atlanta Braves and had a 2.16 ERA in 10 appearances before an arm injury sidetracked his 2000 season. He owns a career big league record of 7-3 with a 2.75 ERA while seeing action in 74 games as a reliever for Atlanta. McGlinchy tossed two scoreless innings of relief in the 1999 World Series for the Braves against the New York Yankees. The 25-year old righty was originally selected by Atlanta in the fifth round of the 1995 draft.
Ducks team officials also announced that they have come to financial terms with the Newark Bears for the rights to 1B/DH Tom Hage. In addition, the team purchased the contract of pitcher Tim Burton from the Pennsylvania Road Warriors and released catcher Sandy DeLeon and pitcher Marc Cerbone.
