Berkshire Black Bears News Release
Sparked by a complete game shutout performance from Kevin Pincavitch, the Bangor Lumberjacks blanked Berkshire 2-0 Tuesday night at Wahconah.
Black Bears' starter Dan Henderson began the night with five innings of no-hit baseball, including four strikeouts. But things unraveled in the top of the sixth as #9 hitter Brad Hargreaves spoiled the no-no for Henderson. The Bangor catcher hit a one out single to right, advanced to second on a wild pitch, and then scored on a two-out RBI single by Todd Brock. The Lumberjacks would add a run in the seventh and would coast from there as the Black Bears managed just three hits off Pincavitch all night. With the loss the Black Bears drop to 15-17, falling short of their bid to reach the .500 mark. Bangor (10-17) has now reached double digits in the win column and erases the chances of a Berkshire sweep.
Left-handed starter Brian O'Connor (1-1) looks to get the Black Bears back on track towards a winning record Wednesday night in game three of the four game home series with Bangor, 7:05 pm first pitch.
