
Spirit Entertain 67's on 'Nexteer Robotics Night'

Saginaw, Michigan - The Saginaw Spirit (8-5-1-1 18pts.) host the CHL's No. 2 ranked Ottawa 67's (14-3-1-0 29pts.) at 5:30 p.m. Sunday evening for Nexteer Robotics Night at The Dow. It's the first of two meetings this season between the Spirit and the 67's, Ottawa comes into the game first place in the OHL standings. There will be a robotics presentation in the Budweiser Red Room opening at 4:00 p.m, as well as the 90-minute Power Play.
The Spirit are coming off a shootout victory against the Guelph Storm on Saturday evening. New York Islanders prospect Blade Jenkins earned first star honors in the win, scoring a goal and assist in the effort. The Jackson, Michigan native opened the scoring in the game.
Arizona Coyotes prospect Ivan Prosvetov stopped 18 shots in the victory and all six shots he faced in the shootout. Prosvetov was strong during man down situations, allowing just one goal in five Guelph power play opportunities.
The Spirit's Reagan O'Grady scored the game tying goal with 3:39 remaining in regulation to force overtime. The goal was the first for the overager in a Saginaw uniform since being acquired from Sudbury earlier this season.
Saginaw rookie defenseman Mason Millman provided the game-winning shootout goal in the sixth round.
Detroit Red Wings prospect Brady Gilmour has been strong against the Ottawa 67's in his career. The Spirit alternate captain has scored two goals and five points in five games.
Tye Felhaber's 18 goals for Ottawa this season is tied for first in the entire OHL in goals and he is currently tied for the team lead in points with 29. Felhaber was a former first round pick for the Saginaw Spirit in the 2014 draft.
Ottawa's Austen Keating leads the OHL with 23 assists and is tied with Felhaber with 29 points. Keating has two goals and five points against the Saginaw Spirit in his career.
Marco Rossi leads all OHL rookies with nine goals and 19 points this season for the Ottawa 67's. The Feldkirch, Austria native, was Ottawa's first round pick in the 2018 CHL Import Draft.
Ottawa has five players drafted by NHL teams, Sasha Chmelevski (San Jose Sharks), Mitchell Hoelscher (New Jersey Devils), Kody Clark (Washington Capitals), Noel Hoefenmayer (Arizona Coyotes), and Kevin Bahl (Arizona Coyotes).
The Spirit have six current players drafted by NHL teams, Brady Gilmour (Detroit Red Wings), Blade Jenkins (New York Islanders), Damien Giroux (Minnesota Wild), Bode Wilde (New York Islanders), Reilly Webb (Detroit Red Wings), and Ivan Prosvetov (Arizona Coyotes).
The Spirit continue their home stand Friday, November 9, when they bring in the Mississauga Steelheads into The Dow Event Center for Covenant Fights Cancer Night. Budweiser Red Room Entertainment doors open at 5:30 p.m. with puck drop at 7:05 p.m.
