Oshawa Generals News Release
The Oshawa Generals battle the Barrie Colts tonight at the Tribute Communities Centre. The Gens record heading into the game sits at 8-6-2-0 after falling to the Owen Sound Attack 6-4 at home on Friday. Oshawa will look to rally back from their recent loss and take down the Colts to close out the weekend.
Tonight's game marks the first time the two teams will meet this season. Heading into the game, Oshawa's record has them holding seventh place in the eastern conference. Meanwhile, Barrie's 9-6-1-0 record puts them in fifth place in the eastern conference with 19 points on the season. Currently holding 18 points, the Gens will look to pass the Colts in the standings with a two-point performance and a big win at home tonight.
There are several Gens in tonight's contest to keep an eye on, including Nando Eggenberger and Jack Studnicka. Eggenberger's strong offensive play has him sporting a 3-game point streak after scoring in both Thursday's game against the Petes and Friday's matchup against the Attack. Eggenberger will aim to keep his streak alive tonight and continue to contribute up front for the Gens. Meanwhile, Jack Studnicka recently came off a 7-game point streak and added 2 more to his total with a goal and an assist in Friday's game against the Attack. Leading the Gens in points with 20, Studnicka will look to keep up his point production and continue to lead the way for the Gens offense.
Friday's close game against the Owen Sound Attack also saw a couple of notable performances from Gens players. Two defensemen in William Ennis and Ian Blacker both scored their first goal of the season in the tough loss, with the tallies coming off perfectly placed shots. Both players will look to follow up their play on Friday with another strong effort tonight against the Colts.
Come join us at the Tribute Communities Centre for tonight's game at 6:05pm and cheer on the Gens taking on the Barrie Colts! After tonight's game, the team will go up against the Ottawa 67's at home next Friday before taking to the road to face the Frontenacs in Kingston on Saturday.
