Gens Close Preseason at Home against IceDogs

OSHAWA, ON - The Oshawa Generals are wrapping up their preseason at the Tribute Communities Centre on Sunday against the Niagara IceDogs.

Oshawa are looking to bounce back from a 7-6 shootout loss to the Saginaw Spirit in their last game.

In addition to trying to bounce back, the preseason finale gives the Generals a chance to play on home ice for the first time before opening the regular season on the road in Brampton on Sep. 8th.

The IceDogs are also wrapping up their preseason on Sunday as they ramp up for their season opener in Brantford against the Bulldogs on Sep. 8th as well.

The Generals and IceDogs met once this preseason already, with the Generals dropping the game 4-2 in Niagara.

Oshawa will look to get their power play back on track after going just one for 19 in the last four games. This follows a hot start going four for eight in the preseason opener against the Owen Sound Attack.

Despite the struggles on the power play, each of the five Generals games this preseason has been filled with goals. Each game has featured at least six goals, with the Generals scoring five or more goals three times in the five games.

The Gennies' first overall pick in the 2026 OHL Priority Selection, Kane Cloutier, has been a standout, recording two goals and two assists in five games.
