
Spirit Continue Road Trip Friday Night in Kitchener

Kitchener, Ont. - The Saginaw Spirit (17-31-1-0) take on the Kitchener Rangers (19-24-2-2) Friday night at the Kitchener Memorial Auditorium in the third of four meetings this season. Puck drop is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. ET.
Head-to-Head
Tonight, marks the first game between Saginaw and Kitchener since Nov. 19, a 6-4 comeback win for the Saginaw Spirit at The Aud. The Spirit scored four goals in the third period, including a hat trick from former Spirit Camaryn Baber to seal the victory for Saginaw. On Nov. 14, Kitchener skated away from The Dow Event Center with a 2-1 win. Davis 'T-Bone" Codd scored a shorthanded goal for the Spirit, but that was all the offense they could muster against Pavel Cajan, who made 29 saves. Jacob LeBlanc scored the game-winning goal in the third period, which was his first goal in the OHL.
Last Time Out
Saginaw: The Spirit dropped their first game of this current three-game swing Wednesday by a 10-6 margin to the Sarnia Sting. The 10 goals against were the most in a single game this season. Saginaw was led offensively by 2022 NHL Draft eligible Matyas Sapovaliv with two goals and an assist. Defenseman PJ Forgione and Buffalo Sabres prospect Josh Bloom each had two assists. For the Sting, Theo Hill had an impressive six assists for the Sting, while Northville, Michigan native Zach Filak scored his first career OHL hat trick.
Kitchener: The Rangers come into tonight's game on a four-game losing streak. They last skated Wednesday night in Owen Sound, playing to a 6-2 defeat. The Attack scored four times in the final period to break the game open. Pavel Cajan made 36 saves but was pulled after the sixth Attack goal was scored in the third.
