Lowell Spinners News Release

The Spinners look to continue their winning ways as they welcome the Brooklyn Cyclones to town. First pitch is set for 5:05 with gates at 4pm.

S P I N - N O T E S:

Back-to-Back: After starting the homestand with three straight losses, the Spinners handed the Hudson Valley Renegades back-to-back losses, taking the series from the McNamara Division leading Rays affiliate with a convincing 9-5 win Saturday night...Behind an eight run first inning that saw 11 Spinners batters come to the plate, the Spinners hung on for a 9-5 win over the Renegades, who entered the series with a 28-11 record.

Moore Back, Peralta In : The Spinners had a pair of pre-game roster moves as INF Nick Moore rejoined the team after a brief promotion to Hi-A Salem and INF Aneudis Peralta was received from the Greenville Drive...Both players have arrived in Lowell and are available off the bench this afternoon.

Two-for-One : Not only did OF Bryan Hudson lead off the first inning with a single but he capped the eight run Spinners first inning with a bases-clearing triple, scoring one batter later on a wild pitch...Hudson became the first Spinners player to have two hits in the same inning since C Tim Roberson accomplished the feat in the fourth inning August 19, 2011 vs. Batavia.

What ' s the Hold-Up? : The start of Saturday night ' s game was delayed by 27 minutes as a result of traffic issues from the Lowell Folk Festival that caused the umpiring crew to arrive late to LeLacheur Park.

Triples x2: Not only was Hudson the first Spinners player in three years to record two hits in the same inning, but he became the first Spinners player since OF Shannon Wilkerson did so, exactly five years prior, July 26, 2009...The two triples were Hudson ' s second and third of the season and moved the Spinners season total to 20, eight away from the franchise record of 28, also set in 2004.

Double Digit Hits Again: The Spinners continued to add to their double-digit hit total Saturday night, recording 11 hits, their seventh consecutive game with double-digit hits...The offense came out firing, with seven hits in the first inning, raising the team batting average on the season to .268, tracking ahead of the franchise record of .261 set in 2005.

Three-in-a-Row : RHP Heri Quevedo picked up his third consecutive win, taking the team lead in wins (4) Saturday evening...Quevedo, who allowed two runs in each of his last two outings, allowed five runs on six hits and a walk, striking out just one against the Renegades...Quevedo was charged with the final two runs after RHP Edwar Garcia allowed the two runners he inherited from Quevedo to score before pitching out of a bases loaded jam of his own creation.

Betts Extends Streak : With his first inning double, 3B Jordan Betts extended his hitting streak to nine-games, and now has hits in 11-of-12 games...The double gave Betts the team lead in doubles (11), after he entered the game tied with OF Nick Longhi...Over the last two-games, Betts is now 3-for-7 with two doubles a home run and five RBI.

More Hudson: Following his four-hit game, OF Bryan Hudson now has a modest five-game hitting streak, during which he is batting .478 (11-for-23) to raise his average from .188 to .243...The four RBI game Saturday also topped his season total entering the game, moving his tally from three to seven.

Dubon Rolling : SS Mauricio Dubon has been sensational in the field this season but his bat has been even hotter of late...In the midst of a seven-game hitting streak, Dubon has five multi-hit games during that stretch ... Dubon has particularly enjoyed playing at LeLacheur, batting .302 (26-for-86) at home on the season.
