
Spikes look to continue push for the playoffs during five-game set from August 21-25

STATE COLLEGE, PA - The State College Spikes are set to provide maximum value to fans over the upcoming five-game homestand from Wednesday, August 21 to Sunday, August 25. The brand-new Thirsty Thursday and the College 3-2-1 Special lead the slate, and fans will also be sure to enjoy a pair of spectacular FIREWORKS nights at Medlar Field at Lubrano Park.
The Spikes are also making a drive for their first-ever New York-Penn League playoff berth, and fans can "Join The Hunt" as the Williamsport Crosscutters (Philadelphia Phillies) and Auburn Doubledays (Washington Nationals) come to town.
Fans can quench their thirst and enjoy phenomenal 50¢ wings throughout the night on Thirsty Thursday, as the Spikes face Williamsport at 7:05 p.m. The new Thursday night tradition features unprecedented value with $1 domestic draft beers from 6-8 p.m., $1 medium sodas all game long, and 50¢ wings in three varieties - Buffalo, Barbecue and Garlic Parmesan.
In addition, college students across Central PA can enjoy even more value not just on Thursday, but throughout the homestand with the College 3-2-1 Special, presented by BioLife Plasma Services.
The College 3-2-1 Special presented by BioLife Plasma Services offers any college student presenting a valid student ID at ticket and concessions windows the following special offers:
- $3 Outfield Bleacher seats or $3 off seat in any other ballpark section
- $2 medium sodas all game
- $1 hot dogs all game
Plus, the skies will light up with fantastic FIREWORKS shows after Friday's 7:05 p.m. game against Auburn and Sunday's 6:05 p.m. matchup with the Doubledays. Susquehanna Bank and ESPN Radio 1450 present Friday night's display, while Sunday's is part of a Family Fireworks Funday at the park, presented by First National Bank.
Thursday also offers a great night to save money and bring the kids out on Kids Eat N' Play Free Thursday, presented by Dairy Queen Grill & Chill. All kids age 12 and under will receive a free hot dog, chips and small soda plus a one-time free play pass to Ike's Kids Zone in left field.
It all begins on Wednesday night, when the Spikes face the Crosscutters at 7:05 p.m. on a Half-Price Wednesday, presented by BIG Froggy 101. Fans can get into the ballpark with half-price Outfield Bleacher seats available for just $3, then enjoy half-price select 16-oz. domestic draft beers available for just $2.50 from 6-8 p.m., and half-price medium sodas available all game long.
