
Harrison Leads the Way

Lowell, MA - The Connecticut Tigers (28-32) defeated the Lowell Spinners (34-24) by a score of 6-1 Tuesday night at Edward A. LeLacheur Park. 3B Brett Harrison (3-4) led the way for the Tigers as he fell just a home run shy of the cycle. Harrison had an RBI single in the sixth inning and an RBI double in the eighth inning.
The Tigers pitching was phenomenal against the Spinners offense. RHP Julio Felix in his first start picked up a no decision pitching four innings while allowing one run on four hits. RHP Matt Davenport (1-0) picked up his first win of the season in his first outing with the CT Tigers. Davenport pitched four scoreless innings and allowed two hits. RHP Zac Reininger pitched a scoreless ninth inning.
The Tigers offense was also led by DH Kasey Coffman (2-5) who had a pair of hits including a double and a run scored. SS Curt Powell (2-4) picked up a pair hits as well including an RBI single in the third inning. Powell also score a run and picked up his 10th stolen base of the season. CF Austin Schotts (2-4) contributed to the team with two singles, a run scored, and two stolen bases.
The highlight for the Spinners came in the third inning on and single by CF Manuel Margot (1-4) that brought RF Jose Colorado (1-3) to score.
The Tigers and the Spinners will start a two-game series at Dodd Stadium tomorrow night at 7:05 p.m. RHP Chase Edwards (0-0, 2.19) takes the mound for the Tigers.
