AUBURN, N.Y. - Rain in the Central New York area forced the State College Spikes and Auburn Dobuledays to halt their game on Sunday afternoon at Falcon Park in the top of the second inning with State College leading, 6-5.

The game will now be resumed as part of a makeshift doubleheader on Monday at 11:00 a.m., with the completion of the suspended game to nine innings, followed by a seven-inning game between the two teams.

The action was stopped immediately after Andrew Warner completed the Spikes' rally from a 5-0 first-inning deficit with a three-run double to left-center field. Warner has now produced five RBI in the last two games.

State College's six-inning second was helped by three Auburn errors, all with two outs, that prolonged the inning. Stanley Espinal, who will be at bat when the game resumes tomorrow, began the frame with a single and Matt Duce followed with a double. Dariel Gomez and Martin Figueroa also knocked in runs with RBI groundouts before Warner's bases-clearing line drive.

Spikes starter Nathaneal Heredia saw his first professional mound appearance cut short after just 2/3 of an inning after reaching 35 pitches. Heredia committed back-to-back balks to bring in Caldiole Sanflar with the game's first run. On the first pitch after the second balk, Phil Caulfield then hit a solo home run to right field to make it 2-0.

Heredia allowed three more walks and a wild pitch while striking out one before being lifted. Reliever Junior Gonzalez then came in with a 3-2 count to Colton Pogue, and forced a grounder. However, third baseman Luis Flores's errant throw to first got away, allowing three runs to score.

Right-hander Enmanuel Solano, who was slated to start Monday's scheduled game for State College, will get the ball when the suspended contest resumes. Auburn has not yet announced who will take over for starter Pedro Gonzalez on the hill.

Right-hander Hector Soto will get the start for State College in what is now a seven-inning affair for Monday's second game. Auburn is scheduled to start right-hander Carlos Romero.
