August 11, 2011 - New York-Penn League (NYPL)
State College Spikes News Release
(STATE COLLEGE, PA) - The latest edition of the State College Spikes' popular Bark in the Park Night will be held tonight, when the Spikes host the Aberdeen IronBirds (Baltimore Orioles affiliate) at 7:05 p.m. at Medlar Field at Lubrano Park. Ballpark gates will open at 6 p.m. for the general public.
Bark in the Park Night is presented by Metzger Animal Hospital and Newsradio FM 103.
Fans are invited to bring their dogs to the game and enjoy several dog-related promotions and activities throughout the evening, including dog-themed in-game entertainment and music before and during the game.
As an added bonus to Thursday's Bark in the Park Night activities, "Team Ghost Riders" and their Cowboy Monkey Rodeo will entertain fans throughout the evening. The tandems of monkeys and dogs will perform between-inning skits during the game, and fans can get an up-close look at the performers after the game.
In addition, fans attending the game can join Metzger Animal Hospital in helping to support Pets Come First in their first fundraising kick off event to take over the SPCA, Centre Hall shelter.
Dog owners are reminded of the following Bark in the Park Night policies:
- Dogs are not required to have their own ticket
- Dogs must be on a leash and must be under the control of their owners at all times
- Any fan bringing their dog(s) to the game should first visit the dog check-in table outside "Gate G" on the Main Ticket Plaza
- At the dog check-in table, owners will be asked to provide their dog's vaccination records. If no records are available, owners will be required to sign a liability waiver
- Dogs are not permitted in the general seating bowl (Diamond Club, Field Box or Bullpen Box sections), but are allowed to walk with their owners on the main concourse or accompany their owners sitting at one of the many picnic tables on the main concourse. Dogs are also permitted to sit with their owners in the Outfield Bleacher seating section or in the Left-Field Picnic Pavilion.
Tickets for Thursday's game, as well as every Spikes regular season home game, are currently on sale through the Spikes Box Office by calling (814) 272-1711 or by visiting in person. Fans can also buy and print single-game tickets by visiting StateCollegeSpikes.com.
