Spiderman and Houston Rockets Affiliate Night Highlight Toros Weekend Schedule

AUSTIN, Texas March 27 - The Toros return to action this Friday, March 30th against the Tulsa 66ers at 7:30 p.m. at the Austin Convention Center. Spiderman will be on hand to take pictures and visit with youth starting at 6:15 p.m. in the Toros Kids Zone. State of Texas employees can take advantage of a buy one, get one free ticket offer and music lovers are encouraged to take part in a pre-game karaoke contest and win a spot in a half-time performance challenge.
Saturday, March 31st is the Toros first Houston Rockets affiliate night. The Austin Toros are the NBA affiliate of the Houston Rockets, San Antonio Spurs, and Boston Celtics. The Rockets Power Dancers and team mascot, Clutch will be on hand as the Toros take on the Arkansas RimRockers at 7 p.m. A special pre-game autograph party is scheduled with former Houston Rockets great Robert Reid from 6:15 - 6:45 p.m. Toros players will wear Rockets uniforms as part of the affiliate night activities.
Saturday night is also Toros teacher appreciation night and local educators are invited to attend as the Toros special guests for the night. Teachers should call the Toros office to reserve a complimentary ticket prior to Saturday's game. All youth attending the game will receive a free book courtesy of the Austin Toros Read to Achieve program and Harcourt Achieve.
Bastrop Hoopstars will host their boys and girls championship games at the convention center prior to the start of Saturday's game. Community guests also include Big Brothers/Big Sisters who have planned a special night for the youth they serve, their volunteers, and board members.
On Sunday, April 1st Toros players will enjoy breakfast with Paul and Clarissa Pena, winners of the "Breakfast with the Toros" promotion at the International House of Pancakes (IHOP) located at 11654 Research Blvd. IHOP sponsors the Toros "3 for free" pancake promotion and provides free pancakes to fans when three 3-point baskets are scored during any Toros home game.
