SWIFT CURRENT, SK - The Swift Current Broncos (10-34-1-3) surrendered two power-play goals and went 0-for-7 on the man advantage in a 3-0 loss to the Prince Albert Raiders (27-14-5-4) Saturday night.

A scoreless first period saw both teams with great chances as each team had a breakaway in the opening two minutes. The shots ended 10-7 in favour of Prince Albert after the first, with the Raiders starting the second on the power play for 1:08.

Ozzy Weisblatt took advantage of that power play, tipping in a point shot from Kaiden Guhle just 45 seconds into the period to open the scoring.

Raider captain Zack Hayes doubled the lead with a rocket of a one timer on another power play, pushing the Raider lead to 2-0 8:38 into the second.

Prince Albert added a third goal off a defensive zone turnover by the Broncos to take a 3-0 lead into the third, after the Broncos couldn't capitalize on three straight power plays to end the second.

Swift Current had two more power plays in the third period but couldn't find the back of the net.

Matej Toman eventually cut into the Raider lead as Garrett Sambrook's shot from near the goal line went off a skate and deflected to Toman who lifted it over the shoulder of Carter Serhyenko for his first as a Bronco.

Evan Herman denied any comeback attempt as he hit the empty net with under two minutes to go as the Raiders took the game 4-1.

The Broncos are now off until next Friday when they welcome the Regina Pats.

Announced attendance was 1,856.
