
Sparks to Appear at Long Beach/PCH Trader Joe's Monday, July 7 from 5-6:30 p.m.

LONG BEACH - In an effort to promote community service, the Los Angeles Sparks will be at the Trader Joe's Long Beach store location on Monday, July 7th to kick start the Trader Joe's sponsored "Pay it Forward Night" which comes to STAPLES Center on Monday, July 14th. While visiting Trader Joe's, the Sparks will adorn the traditional Hawaiian shirt of the Trader Joe's staff as they disperse throughout the store bagging groceries, working tasting areas, and greeting customers.
The Sparks visit which will run from 5:00pm-6:30pm at the PCH Long Beach Trader Joe's located at 6451 E. Pacific Coast Highway, Long Beach, CA 90803 is a promotional event for the upcoming âPay it Forward' night where fans are encouraged to donate food items (canned food and other non-perishable food). Sparks staff will be on hand to collect such items from fans for the Los Angeles Regional Foodbank prior to tip-off on Monday, July 14th when the Sparks go head to head against conference rival, the San Antonio Silver Stars. Members of the Sparks fan loyalty program (Home Court Advantage) that donate food items can earn up to 2,500 HCA points good towards free tickets, memorabilia and unique fan experiences.
Trader Joe's commitment to the community and the Los Angeles Regional Foodbank doesn't stop with âPay it Forward' night as it also includes a donation of $75 (benefiting the Los Angeles Regional Foodbank) for each three-pointer made by the Sparks at home games during the regular season.
Another item the Sparks are promoting at this event is a special ticket offer for the game on July 14th. If a fan brings a Trader Joe's receipt valued at $50 or more to the STAPLES Center Box Office they will receive two (2) FREE tickets ($44 value) to the âPay it Forward' game presented by Trader Joe's.
Following the Sparks home game on July 14th, the Sparks will leave on a two-week road trip leading into the Olympic Break. The second half of the Sparks' season will tip-off on Aug. 28 as they play host to the Sacramento Monarchs at STAPLES Center at 7:30 p.m. The regular-season schedule concludes Sept. 14 with the playoffs scheduled to begin on Sept. 18.
