Connecticut Sun To Hold "Reading Time-Out" Event With Pitney Bowes and Area Youth in Hartford

WHAT: Connecticut Sun players Tamika Whitmore and Jolene Anderson will take part in a "Reading Time-Out" event with youth in the Hartford area at the Community Renewal Team, Inc. as part of the "Fast Break To Reading Program" with the WNBA and Pitney Bowes on Thursday, July 10th from 4-5 p.m.

The Connecticut Sun is one of the six WNBA teams that is participating in a season-long initiative to educate youth about reading and to engage fans while raising funds for local, community-based literacy programs. Pitney Bowes's participation with the WNBA will help build or renovate a Reading and Learning Center at the end of the season in the community of the team that raises the most funds for literacy.

The Connecticut Sun's "Reading Time-Out" event in Hartford is the third of five that will be held throughout the WNBA season in different regions of the state. Connecticut Sun players, along with representatives from Pitney Bowes, will be on hand at each event to read to area youth and to speak about the importance of reading.
