Indiana Fever News Release
INDIANAPOLIS, July 3, 2008 - Indiana Children's Wish Fund child Carolyn Keating will be the honorary coach at the Indiana Fever game against the Connecticut Sun on Saturday, July 5 (7:00 p.m.). Thirteen-year-old Wish child Carolyn Keating attends New Augusta North School in Pike Township and suffers from a brain tumor. The Indiana Children's Wish Fund granted her wish by sending her along with family members to Disney World in October 2006.
Carolyn loves basketball, and prior to her diagnosis, she was to play in a basketball league, which is why her participation at the Fever game is special to her.
On July 5, as an honorary coach, Carolyn will be courtside with the Fever team before the game begins, and during half-time. After the game, she will join the team in the locker room, where she will receive Fever gift items and an autographed basketball.
The Indiana Children's Wish Fund is a non-profit organization that grants wishes for children ages 3-18 who have been diagnosed with life-threatening illnesses.
Established in 1984, Indiana Children's Wish Fund has granted over 1,800 wishes for children in Indiana. Wishes include trips to Disney World, shopping sprees, home computers and much more.
